new layout!

i've finally given in to my true love of purple and changed the color/layout of this from the template i originally picked out. it's pretty spiffy, don't you think?

trick or treated yesterday. even though the candy haul was only moderate (people stop giving out candy at, like, 9 - what's up with that?) it seems like it gets to be more fun once your old enough to wander around outside without parents calling every few minutes to make sure you haven't been abducted or something. speaking of abducted, i was sorting through my old books and i found The Face on the Milk Carton by Caroline Cooney, which got me wondering why there aren't faces on the milk cartons at school, because i think it'd be an interesting way to break up the monotony, don't you? like, i always read the sides of my milk cartons and cereal boxes when i'm eating, and it's always, like, nutrition facts or a puzzle or something.

oh, and i'm branching out musically. sort of. i'm listening to something that's actually current (down by jay sean) and it's, like, annoyingly catchy. and in other music news: check out the like. they're pretty awesome and their new single is free on their myspace.

with a capital Ick

sick again. still sick? i don't even know, it's like i'll get back to functional for a day and then die for the next two. and i missed two days of school -.- yippee for makeup work?

oh tay tay

so i'm a giant taylor swift fangirl and just bought the platinum edition of fearless. like, legally, even. and it was so worth it because bonus tracks! music videos!

...in other words, my homework soundtrack is now gonna be a lot better than just putting my ipod on shuffle or letting the tv play in the background.

other than that, nothing much is going on. but, look, i'm blogging! like, consistently. so that's exciting.

(playing on the ol' ipod: superstar - t. swift)

eye eye eye

i'm thinking i should give up on contacts. experience 1 since the Case of the Ripped Contact Lens involved me sitting in meg's bathroom poking at my eye for fifteen minutes before realizing that my contact had already come out. fml.

avec ou sans moi (i put my itunes on shuffle and got a title)

so i'm sitting on meggo's floor. she's right next to me. i'm trying to inspire her to blog (and have her blogging inspire me to continue blogging...it's a complicated circle). she says, "my butt hurts." i agree, meg, i agree. your floor is hard.

our computers don't like each other. i have a macbook and she has a pc. we're having a music day ("do you think if my butt were bigger it'd have better padding?" also known as an interlude from meg). actually, it's more of a music night because we've only been doing this for a little while (since we got back from dinner, actually), so music night would be more appropriate, but it doesn't have the right feel to it, you know?

oh, so we went to dinner at cheng's and now have enough leftovers to feed a small country. looking for free food? go out to dinner with a homecoming group and don't go to the dance. being the only people actually going home, all the leftovers are automatically yours. win!

speaking of win, meg is blogging! i call this a victory (i've been winning a lot lately. see: my fight against capital letters. they tricked me into using them in the last two posts -- the hazards of posting from my phone with its dastardly autocorrect -- but i've got the best of them now)

listening to: taper jean girl - kings of leon. oh, haircut followill, why'd you start enunciating? i miss the good old days of slurry songs and crazy guitar riffs. patrick stump managed to keep his songs impossible to understand.

hmm, so i took a lot of pictures today (woo hoo for the birthday camera) and we're going to take more once pantsless is done being pantsless on the dance floor (and has delivered our dessert...HIGHce cream ftw), so i'm gonna cut this post short (like kanye west on tay tay. what? what? too soon? yeah, i thought so too).

alternate title for this post: it's late and i'm feeling parenthetical

slow night, so long (i took this title from a kings of leon song)

Home feels like seatbelts and state lines. Maybe I should take up the life of a troubadour?

(s)ick

Hmm, so I'm distressingly disgustingly ill right now...and have been really busy with homework...and just generally ignoring this blog. But I'm back. Read that as: I'm in that in-between stage of being sick and just ick that leads to me trolling around the interwebs for hours at a time just because it means that I don't have to move. It's just as fun as it sounds, I can assure you. And I have a whole pile of makeup work to look forward to!

But, I refound this little link, which is somewhat uplifting, so:

Isn't that gorgeous? It makes me long for coordination and stick-like legs. And to figure out what that song is.

And speaking of songs and things that are gorgeous: Damien Rice - 'Rootless Tree'. Listen to it, it's been playing on loop on my iPod for a reason.

And now that I've broken the hiatus, time to go nap and blow my nose. Maybe (probably) not in that order.
