since i'm a slave to technology (and highly superstitious) when i looked at my itunes shortly after finally charging my phone and realized my total song count was 7666 i decided to move up my song buying/finding expedition. it's been a good day for my shopping cart. i got the vitamin string quartet tributes to the killers and the beatles (which, seriously, there is no happier music to run to) and then i found these three compilations for free online from indie/tiny record labels. well, okay, one of the labels is actually fairly large - they've got less than jake and underoath represented, but the free album was from one of their smaller (and better, at least to me, but that's just because i don't like underoath that much) bands. but this just proves my point from the last post - if i just had one music god(dess) of a friend, i could've found this stuff way sooner instead of having to wait until i had free time and was taking a break from editing college essays. (if you're out there, oh musical one, i'll give you free membership into the communist book and cookie collective if you hook me up) the good news from my long wait for new music is that i've gone up to 7777, which is just a fun number. i'm sure my chi has been restored to equilibrium after suffering through such a technologically trying day.
just to round out the music news, i'm listening to needs more tree metaphors by 10-4, eleanor - the name doesn't actually include the comma, but i like bands with their punctuation in order, so i fixed it in itunes.
in other news, these makes me wish i had a kitty. i don't get why i don't. i mean, if my parents would just let me get one i would totally feed it and brush it and take pictures of it to post to lolcats every day!
